Four Great Taste Awards for New Forest Shortbread in 2026
We are absolutely delighted to share some exciting news.
New Forest Shortbread has been awarded four Great Taste Awards 2026, including a coveted 2-Star Great Taste Award for our Ginger Shortbread and 1-Star Awards for our Coffee, Caraway and Apple & Fennel flavours.
For a small artisan bakery in the heart of the New Forest, this recognition means a great deal. Every batch we make is handcrafted using simple, honest ingredients and traditional methods, so to have four flavours recognised by one of the world's most respected food and drink accreditation schemes is a proud moment for our whole team.
What is Great Taste?
Organised by the Guild of Fine Food, Great Taste is widely regarded as the most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme in the world.
Every product is blind tasted by expert judges, with all branding and packaging removed, ensuring awards are based entirely on taste.
This year, more than 15,000 products from 116 countries were entered, with fewer than half receiving an award.
Our Award-Winning Flavours
Ginger Flavoured Shortbread – 2 Stars
Our Ginger Shortbread received an Outstanding 2-Star Award.
Judges praised its buttery aroma, crisp bite and perfectly balanced ginger flavour, describing it as "a perfect bite-size biscuit" with "plenty of crunch" and a warm ginger finish.
Coffee Flavoured Shortbread – 1 Star
Rich, aromatic and full of flavour, our Coffee Shortbread impressed judges with its distinctive coffee character and satisfying crunch.
Caraway Flavoured Shortbread – 1 Star
Inspired by traditional baking, our Caraway Shortbread was recognised for its buttery flavour, pleasing texture and unique, lingering finish.
Apple & Fennel Flavoured Shortbread – 1 Star
A flavour developed to complement cheese boards and savoury pairings, our Apple & Fennel Shortbread was praised for its distinctive character, buttery texture and handcrafted appearance.

Across the four award-winning flavours, judges consistently praised the handcrafted appearance, delicate crumb, buttery flavour and balanced use of ingredients.
